Platform

The Klyqme™ platform consists of the following components:

  • Core Services
  • Extended Services

Core Services provide the basic glue for the Klyqme™ social network. Users can follow each other, broadcast or exchange personal messages and set up chat groups. They can also search for new friends, transfer Klyx and post pictures. All these services can be accessed using either SMS and MMS or the Klyqme™ smartphone app.

The Core Services suite comes with a Content Store for users to purchase Klyx, content and other operator services. It also has built-in tag-on advertising feature also allow operators to insert short text advertisement into every message delivered through Klyqme™.

Klyqme™ provides an app which runs on any smartphone with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and above.

Extended Services are value-added features, applications and games that can be deployed on top of the underlying Klyqme™ social networking platform.

An ever-expanding portfolio of applications and services is available from KChannels and 3rd party developers for the mobile operator to further generate revenue using the platform. Example of apps currently available:
  • Codebreaker
  • Poll
  • Quiz
  • Kupid
  • Kall
  • Kad

The Klyqme™ platform also enables mobile operators to insert advertisement into messages and notifications sent across the social network. The platform intelligently slots ad messages into available spaces, unintrusively piggybacking them on users' messages.

This powerful ad-insert system can serve as an additional revenue source for the operator or simply be used as a channel for promoting its own services.

Klyqme™ can either be hosted by mobile operators themselves or deployed from KChannels' cloud infrastructure. The service requires connectivity to the operator's SMS and MMS gateways via the Internet or a VPN.

The essential requirements for the deployment of Klyqme are:
  • An assigned shortcode from the operator
  • Connectivity to the SMS-C, directly or via a gateway using SMPP, UCP or any HTTP-based protocol
  • Connectivity to the MMS-C, directly or via a gateway using MM7 or any HTTP-based protocol
  • Charging interface for airtime deduction

For value-added applications such as KALL (Voice services) and KLOC (Location-based services):
  • SS7 connection to the Mobile Switching Center (MSC)
  • Integration to Location Based Server(LBS) or Mobile Positioning Center (MPC)

A REST-based developer API is available for mobile operators to build new applications or integrate legacy apps onto the social network. Operators can also securely open up the API to its developer community.

A customer service web portal is provided for mobile operators to provide first level customer support.

Service usage and revenue information are available online through a web interface. Data is updated hourly, providing mobile operators with up-to-date information on user behaviour.

The platform also generates raw CDRs which can be uploaded to Business Intelligence systems for analytics.
